We absolutely loved our stay at Under Canvas Acadia! The camp is located right along the coast in Surry, ME. The location is unbeatable, and centrally located to many activities in the region including Acadia NP and Castine. I've stayed at a few Under Canvas locations now, and it is such a unique and relaxing way to 'get off the grid' and out in nature, while maintaining the comforts of being close to home (like restaurant-quality food and running water). The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. There are lots of activities to enjoy at the campsite, or the staff can point you to incredible adventures outside the camp. Through Under Canvas Acadia, we booked a bioluminescent kayaking trip, and it was amazing and such a great memory to have with my family!

This was our first experience with Under Canvas (and camping or glamping in general) and it won't be our last. The location was beautiful. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We only stayed one night and opted to eat in Ellsworth, which was very close and convenient. The campfires and smores were great. We stayed in September and it did get a little cold in the middle of the night once the fire went out, but not too bad. We were pleasantly surprised by the water temp for the shower. Our only suggestion would be to ask for a tent further away from the main area if you are looking for more privacy. Our tent was one of the first few and you could hear people walking by into the night and early morning. You could also hear people at the campfires and the lights took away from some of the stars. All in all we highly recommend!

This place is MAGICAL. It was so quintessential New England with picturesque lake and mountain views, quiet woods paths and amazing stargazing opportunities. The tents were spacious, clean and cozy and the staff were SO friendly and helpful, including assisting with our wood stove and even giving the kids a ride in the golf cart. The main tent had a cozy and fun atmosphere, with a great sense of community - the smores bar, fire pits, live music and board games kept us busy and the food and drinks were delicious. We will definitely come back and are already planning visits to other Under Canvas locations too. Highly recommend!

This was our first time at an under canvas property, and we absolutely loved our stay as a family of four in Acadia! Such a beautiful property and the service was superior, along with amenities and food. We are not big campers so glamping was the only way we knew we could “survive” with running water in the tent, and the wood burning stove was critical for chilly evenings. Waking up to a family of deer and porcupines was the icing on the cake. We will be back!

Absolutely love UC, and our recent experience near Acadia NP in Maine was outstanding. The location was beautiful and breathtaking, and I enjoyed an afternoon stroll on he beach surrounded by Fall foliage and starfish-filled tidepools. Accommodations, food, and service were lovely, and the evening's live music was enjoyed. I only wish the propane heaters and outdoor fireplaces had been on a stronger setting, as the last 2 nights were quite chilly and the extra heat would have been greatly appreciated! We stayed 3 nights total and look forward to our next UC experience. Since this was my second, the first was in 2024 at Mt. Rushmore (also spectacular), we are deciding where to visit next as we are hooked!.

I love this concept, it’s the second under canvas we’ve stayed at! We do get a tent with a shower and toilet, so to me it’s the best way to camp! Still no electricity, so don’t plan on fixing your hair, but being out in nature is so peaceful and relaxing I can’t recommend it enough. There is a main area that serves breakfast and dinner and where you can play games or just hang out and read. They also offer s’mores by the fire every night which I have to admit is always something I enjoy It’s right by the water so the location is just amazing. All the staff was wonderful! Very friendly and welcoming! I will say we ended up leaving a night early because it was getting down to 29 degrees and it is hard to keep the tent warm with just a small wood burning stove, which is why they close mid October. We were there the very last week they were open and we knew there was a chance that it would be cold, but it was well worth it! I will definitely go to another under cavas again! This is about 45 minutes to Acadia and a pretty drive. Hope to come back!

My husband and I spent our 20th anniversary at Under Canvas Acadia. It was perfect in every way. The staff is 10/10. Check-in was great, the food was excellent, coffee was hot and always ready, the shore walk was wonderful with a fantastic marine biologist, we experienced perfect live music and the atmosphere was breathtaking. Trip of a lifetime!

We spent our 20th anniversary trip at Under Canvas in Maine right outside Acadia National Park. We love the outdoors and backpacking, and wanted something that kept us in the outdoors, but at the same time was luxurious and private. This spot hit our entire wish list and then some. Very private, grounds on the coast were amazing, super comfy bed, wood stove was awesome to have, and staff was super friendly and inviting. We will definitely be back!
